Castle View seniors 'a class of learners and leaders'

Posted

Castle View High School held its 2018 graduation commencement ceremony on May 16 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Family and friends of graduates gathered at the outdoor venue on a warm, sunny afternoon to celebrate the class, which earned $3.5 million in scholarships.

Seniors cheered throughout the ceremony for speakers, performances and the students as they passed tassels from one side of their cap to the other before tossing them in the air.

“I've referred to this group as a class of learners and leaders,” Principal Rex Corr said, encouraging seniors to draw on the knowledge and experiences they've gained in high school after graduation.

Student Ian Orr, one of the day's speakers, told classmates they had an opportunity before them to make an impact in the world.

“What's important today is not what you've done over these last four years,” Orr said. “It's what you're going to do.”
