Season of the Star, an event series created by Castle Rock to bring together the community, offers a number of events to help celebrate the holiday season.

The series encourages residents to make holiday memories downtown while also shopping locally, which helps fund key town services such as park maintenance, road improvemets and public safety, said a news release from the town.

Admission to Season of the Star events is free. Learn more at CRgov.com/StarSeason.

Storytellers and S'mores: 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 in Festival Park. Santa and several of his friends will read holiday favorites from the giant storytellers chair. Roast marshmallows, eat s'mores, drink hot chocolate and enjoy family-friendly fun.

While supplies last, kids will receive an elf buddy at the end of the course. Also enjoy the Winter Express train station at the Millhouse. Bring a camera to snap photos with Santa.
