Castle Rock police are investigating a crash that left a man dead May 16.

The driver of an older Honda Accord was southbound on Highway 85 when he made a U-turn near the intersection of U.S. Highway 85 and Meadows Parkway, striking two other vehicles before his car landed in a nearby culvert, according to a town news release.

On May 23, the man was identified as Alan E. Martinez, 52.

Police responded to the accident at 2:33 p.m. Martinez was transported to the hospital for injuries not related to the crash, a town spokeswoman said. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. No one from the vehicles he struck was injured.

The incident remains under investigation.
