Douglas County High School celebrated the 2017 graduating class on May 20 at the school stadium after the school's original graduation date, set for May 19, was rescheduled because of winter-like weather.
Principal Anthony Kappas thanked the members of the crowd for their patience with the change in schedule before telling graduates to remember they have the potential to be successful, and he believed each of them would reach that potential.
"I am so proud of you and your accomplishments," Kappas told seniors, "but more importantly I am proud of the people you have become."
