A Heart to Heart on Facing Life’s Last Chapters

For one reason or another, many older adults find it difficult to start the conversation about aging and dying. This conversation isn’t about finances or estate planning; it’s about honestly communicating what matters most in later life and death to the people who matter most. Libby and Patty Bortz can help get this conversation started. The mother-daughter duo is presenting Facing Life’s Last Chapters Together at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, September 14, at Douglas County Libraries in Highlands Ranch (9292 S. Ridgeline Blvd.).

The free event is what the women call “estate planning of the heart.” Together, they’ll share their personal, emotional journey as mother and daughter discussing the difficult topics of aging, dying, and what matters most in the later chapters of life. They will offer guidance and advice to help other daughters, sons, mothers, fathers and partners to start these critically important conversations with their own loving yet reluctant family members.

Facing Life’s Last Chapters Together is ideal for adults. While the event is free, registration is required. Register online or by calling (303) 791-7323.
