OurSong - come sing with us weekly, no auditions required!

Posted by

OurSong activates the benefits of singing - releases endorphins, improves respiration, being physically active - and doing so together - bonding, forming community and belonging.

Singing is a gift from God that can connect us with Him, our own health and each other. We will provide songs, a little music education, a touch of inspiration and a lot of vocal opportunity for growth! We will sing songs of varying degrees of difficulty, various styles and moods.

At times we might take our singing to people who would benefit from listening and joining us in singing. But mostly we sing to enjoy singing. Singing is a gift from God and each session will include Scripture, prayer encouragement and develop your relationship with God.

Anyone is welcome, starting age 16 and up. You don’t have to be trained or experienced, come from ANY church or listen to a certain style of music. You do have to be eager to sing together and willing to learn some of the tools of singing.

This is led and hosted by a family in Highlands Ranch, Sherman and Janet MacDaniels.

The director, Delray Agnes has had extensive experience with singing, coaching soloists and ensembles for singing onstage, for competitions, in recording sessions, taking auditions and preparing for musicals. Most relevantly, she's worked with choirs of 10-80 people, some church choirs, some community choirs. She founded and directed a dynamic contemporary worship choir at a large NY church for 12+ years, which set an inspiring, vibrant tone every week. In addition, she founded and trained Jabulani, a multi-racial group of 16-20 singers singing in the apartheid era of South Africa, songs of reconciliation and racial healing in Christ; the Whisper of Hope, a large multi-racial choir singing of hope and destiny; seasonal choirs put together over 5 years with Soweto Gospel singers for the annual Prayer Dinners of national leaders.
