Sheriff's office investigates shooting near Parker

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of June 21 near Cottonwood Drive on Jordan Road in the Prairie Meadows subdivision near Parker.

According to a Facebook post by the sheriff's office, an argument between three people escalated, ending with one adult male being shot. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The suspected shooter is in custody.

The sheriff's office said it was an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the community.
