The body of a man identified as Brian Patterson of Centennial, whose vehicle was found in a recreational area of Douglas County, was located during a search by multiple agencies, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office announced on Jan. 17.
“No foul play is suspected. We appreciate the hard work of all the agencies and search-and-rescue teams involved,” the sheriff's office said in a Jan. 17 tweet.
The Douglas County volunteer search-and-rescue team was looking in the Rampart Range area — west of Castle Rock — for Patterson on Jan. 16, according to a tweet from the organization. Patterson was last seen Jan. 12.
Patterson “told a neighbor he was going ATV riding in the mountains, never showed up for work on the 14th. Our deputies conducted a welfare check but did not notice foul play,” the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office tweeted Jan. 16.
A vehicle believed to be Patterson's was located at the Dakan off-highway vehicle trailhead on Jan. 15, according to a Douglas search-and-rescue team tweet. Patterson was reportedly driving a 2011 green Polaris 500 all-terrain vehicle, according to the tweet.
Patterson's body was found Jan. 16. It was not clear exactly where Patterson's body was located. Douglas County sheriff's spokespersons did not immediately respond for comment Jan. 17.
The Douglas County Coroner's Office identified the body, according to a Douglas sheriff's office tweet.
