Fallen officers golf tourney set for Aug. 12

The Meridian Golf Club is holding a golf tournament in support of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Fallen Officers Fund Aug. 12. Tee-off time is 8:30 a.m. and all proceeds go toward the fallen officers fund. There are currently 120 players in the field. Deadline to register for the event is July 1.

“From my point of view, there’s no greater sacrifice than giving your life in the line of duty for the benefit of the citizens of your county,” said owner and general manager Tom Lyneis. “It’s a huge thing that these officers take on every day. It’s an opportunity to participate in helping with some of their families as needed.”
