Letter to the editor: I love America

Posted

I love America! I love the American flag — stars and stripes that represent freedom. I love our national anthem. I stand for the flag. I put my hand over my heart when I sing the national anthem — the words that bring tears to my eyes out of gratefulness for being an American.

Was our Constitution and Bill of Rights written by “old white men wearing wigs” as asserted by some? Of course they were! While the Founding Fathers wrote the words, but the content was inspired by Almighty God! Next to the Holy Bible, the U.S. Constitution is the greatest document ever written.

Unfortunately today everything seems to be based on race — all blacks are oppressed, all whites are the oppressors. America is not racist, not homophobic, not xenophobic, not any of the other accusations made by the “woke” crowd.

Why do you think people from countries all over the world risk their very lives to come to America? It is certainly not because America is evil. It is because America is the beacon of light on the hill giving hope to all people!

America is the greatest nation on earth! We need to teach our kids to be patriotic, to appreciate the freedoms that so many gave their lives to provide, not to learn hate, guilt, oppression, and victimhood now being promoted.

What do I say to those who believe America is racist and evil? I say love America or leave!
