Thankful for vaccination
I have made every effort to go to the back of the COVID-19 vaccination line and let more at-risk seniors go ahead of me, but luck was not with me. About 10 days ago my daughter registered me with UC Health and received confirmation three days later. We thought it would take a month or more before I could be vaccinated. On Monday, Feb. 8 I received a call from UC Health that I could get my vaccine the next day. I chose Wednesday, Feb. 10.
When we got to UC Health in Thornton, we were treated to a well-oiled machine. They were well organized, friendly and efficient. It took about 10 minutes to get my shot and 15 minutes recovery time and we were on our way back to Highlands Ranch with no side effects from the vaccine. Well, maybe guilt. When I asked why I got my vaccination so fast I was told my name was pulled out of a hat. I think they were just humoring this soon-to-be 88-year-old man, but I was clearly the oldest person I saw.
I would like to thank Governor Polis, UC Health and everyone in Colorado in the health profession who are working overtime to vaccinate Colorado.
