Q&A with Jonathan Bollefer, candidate for mayor of Parker

Campaign website: jbforparkermayor.com

What makes you the best choice for this office?

I do not have an agenda. I am a servant leader looking to listen to our communities and do what is best for our Town of Parker. I don't have ulterior motives, no bad habits. I want to unite our communities by listening to understanding and not respond.

If you're elected, what issue that will be at the top of your agenda?

Health and safety. The health and safety of our communities, teachers, students, our law enforcement, first responders and those who are in the fight every day. We are here for you and want to support your efforts.

If you're elected, what must you accomplish in order for you to consider your term a success?

If I am elected, I personally think to be a success would be to influence one person to stand up for what they believe in. To get one young person to believe in themselves, and stand up for one another. To stand up for equality and for unity even if it's hard. That's the right thing to do. That would be success to me.

In your view, what is (or should be) the role and responsibility of the mayor of Parker?

To listen. Our mayor should be inclusive. Nonpartisan. To ensure we hear the voices of all our neighbors, friends, local business owners and local communities. That is why I am here.

Why are you seeking this office?

I want to represent the best place in the world to live. We are fortunate to live in such a wonderful place. I believe in longer tables, not higher walls. I felt driven to make sure all of our voices were represented. This is our town and I am excited to represent all of us. I believe in people, in purpose and in Parker.
