Volunteers needed to drive seniors

Volunteers are needed to help transport seniors and disabled adults.

The Castle Rock Senior Center program provides about 750 rides each month to medical appointments, grocery stores, events and other errands. Volunteer drivers use a fleet of senior-center vehicles.

The senior population is growing and the demand for transportation has grown equally. To assist more seniors, more drivers are needed, both those who can commit to a day a week from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to shuttle around town, and those available for individual rides throughout the metro area to medical appointments.

Volunteers must pass background and DMV checks, and comprehensive training is provided on all vehicles in the fleet.

See the volunteer page at www.castlerockseniorcenter.org for information, or contact Juli, the volunteer coordinator, at 303-688-9498 or jasbridge@crgov.com.
